Cardiff plot £9m move for Leeds forward Ross McCormack
BY GAVIN MACDONALD ⋅ MONDAY JUNE 16, 2014 ⋅
Cardiff City are preparing to launch a £9 million bid for Leeds United and Scotland forward Ross McCormack according to the Daily Mirror.
The recently relegated Premier League side are preparing to launch the £9 million bid just four years after selling him to Leeds for a measly sum of £350,000.
Ross McCormack is subject to renewed interest from Cardiff
Bluebirds boss Ole Gunnar Solksjaer is hoping to add the former Rangers player to his squad in a bid for automatic promotion back into the Premier League.
He did have a £4 million bid for the Scotland international rejected in January but it now seems they have the funds to offer more.
McCormack, finished this past season as the Championship’s top goalscorer having scored 28 goals in 46 league appearances and has been subject to interest from an array of English clubs including Newcastle United, Fulham and Derby County.
Solksjaer has already signed five players, three of which are strikers. It is thought his side are now in pole position to sign him as fellow Championship side Fulham prepare to bid a £7 million offer.

Mon Jun 16, 2014 7:32 pm
I believe at around £4 million Ole may be interested.

I would be utterly gobsmacked if we bid £9m for Ross, a good player who has done excellent in recent seasons but at that price I would hope not.

Can't see ole wasting £9m on him, Leeds are f*cking retards if they think someone will pay £9m+ for him
Mon Jun 16, 2014 8:24 pm

Hate to point out I have already replied to a similar post...!
The aim is to get back up into the premier league isn't it? He will be out of his league then

Ahh, so you want to run before we can walk?!

He will be good enough for then anyway, in my opinion.

Not really, I just believe he isn't a player we should look at signing especially for that asking price.

Mon Jun 16, 2014 8:59 pm
Complete and utter bollocks, I don't think we would even go as high as £4 million for him now, we were desperate in January, we aren't now, we have just signed 3 strikers for nowt, who will get us the goals

First of all, where did this "story" originate? Who actually, allegedly, said that Cardiff City FC bid this figure??

Probably his agent talking shit saying we offered £9m to get other teams to bid more, only problem is no fucker believes we would ever offer £9m for him now that we got 3 goalscorers in

Exactly,,,just another example of agent extortion. Will we ever learn?
If he goes to Fulham for £9.5 million, then who's to blame?

Leeds are due back in the High Court next Monday regarding the repayment of a loan for approx £1m which they have been ordered to repay by 23rd June.
I don't if this Italian owner has the money to repay the loan, players outstanding wages and HMRC but if he hasn't Ross may have to be sold for a whole lot less than £9m.
So I don't believe it and the same goes with this alleged £5m bid by Fulham.

Cardiff City to bid £9m for Ross McCormack?
By Sian Cowper, Reporter
Last Updated: Monday, June 16, 2014 at 22:01 UK
Cardiff City have reportedly lined up a £9m bid to bring Ross McCormack back to the club.
The Bluebirds sold the striker to Leeds United four years ago for £350,000, but speculation has linked him with a return to South Wales in recent weeks.
According to the Mirror, Cardiff are willing to offer £9m for the Scotland international, having had a £4m bid for him turned down in January.
Derby County and Fulham have reportedly both had offers rejected for McCormack, who scored 29 goals for Leeds last season.

i hope we don't not worth £9 million
Tue Jun 17, 2014 7:03 am
No more than 1.5 - 2 million
Tue Jun 17, 2014 9:45 am
We already have 85 goals in the squad for the next season, we don't need 99 to win championship
