And god only knows how I've missed her
On the palm of her hand is a blister
And I need more time :old:

Some of their earlier gigs were class but sadly unless you like glorified karaoke, pissed up twats throwing their piss everywhere its not the same.

Top band though, the best.

We put this festival on you bastards, with a lot of love
We worked around the year for you pigs
Are you gonna break our walls down?
Are you gonna try it?
Well you go to hell!

I will always love Oasis their early stuff was class and being 17 when DM was released their music will be synonymous with my youth and early adult years.

However lets be fair theyve been shit for well over a decade now and if they are getting back together its just for a pay day.

Prefer Noels voice to Liams these days. His solo stuff is far better than anythinh Beady Eye have done.

Agree with all that but the chance to see them live again with hot piss flying in all directions stills appeals to me!

Agree thats noels solo stuff was class but i thought the last Oasis album was class too. Saw them twice on that tour. In Manchester (when they had the power cut) and Berlin (6000 crowd)

Beady eye are shit, NGHFB are decent but no Oasis.

great news. I was 9 in 89 so bit too young for the roses. Very grateful of their re-forming however. 14 in 94 however so this band was very much band of my youth.

For sentimental reasons hope its the original line up but with Alan White on the drums.

Same as me mate. I was 12 in 1994 so they were the band of my youth. Listened to them all day every day. Seen then a good few times as well. Last time I saw then was in the CIA. Fight broke out on the balcony loads of people in the standing section chering them on. That gig had a crazy atmosphere, I remember turning up about half 8 so about half hour before the band was due on and there were huge ques to get in. Everyone had just sat in the pub all day drinking!

Same here mate. I was absolutely mad for them in the 90's. The first two albums were outstanding and every one of their singles on those albums were worth buying due to the quality of the B tracks.

I am on the hunt for Supersonic on vinyl. Was released on Sat I think as part of national records day.

Unoriginal, derivative, Beatles copyists with a whiny gobshite singer who sings through his nose and a distinctly average guitarist who is nowhere near as good as he thinks he is.

Grossly over-rated drivel.

Like so many bands before them, found out the hard way that their solo careers swiftly go straight down the pan due to lack of talent.

Gallagher brothers - just a pair of egotistical knobheads.

Their album sales and huge popularity would suggest otherwise.

I miss Liam's voice, late 90's/early 2000's thought it was great but it's gone mega downhill since then

Seen them twice and both times they were utter shit, went to Wembley stadium the second time only because someone dropped out and it was free and we all left after half hour, the happy mondays were much better it was their last ever gig and were all out of their heads and arguing on stage.
If they played in my back garden I would tell them to jog on.

Never really understood the fuss as I'd heard the same done before but better. They always appeared to me as a band in the right place/right time to fill at that time a certain style of guitar act void which Alan McGee at Creation identified and did a top job on. I met a then relatively unknown Liam in Teddington TV studios when The Word was being filmed and they played Supersonic, soonafter that, they went massive. Saw them around a couple of times after filming for TV and they always were out of tune and sounded awful so I find them just overrated. Around the same time, the Stone Roses were imploding because of their record deal and I have always thought that Oasis enjoyed the limelight that the Roses (a far better band but often out of tune too) should have had - what a band they would have been. Noel grates on me when he casually references The Beatles and Weller like he's somehow in the same league. He's a big Smiths fan so can't be all bad though. Saying all that, I hope they reform for the fans and for those who like them and never saw them. And so does their bank manager.
'Nail 'em up,' I say. 'Nail some sense into 'em.'

A little bird tells me that Vince Power is trying to get the Gallagher brothers to reunite for Beni this year.

It's the 20 year anniversary of the festival.

They defo found a gap in the market at the time and made the most of it.

Musically I preffered The Verve but there is no denying the big appeal with Oasis was their attitude and personality.

Technically there were better bands but Oasis become almost a youth culture lke mods, skins, punks, casuals.etc

Young lads wanted to be Liam, young girls wanted to f**k him.
