If I bought new spark plugs for my car for £1000, they would do the job I bought them to do and NEEDED them to do. That doesnt mean they were worth the money however.

I could have got spark plugs to do the same vital job for £20.

Thus suggesting I wasted £980 regardless of whether they did the job i wanted them to do or not.

I come from the logical point of view. Im always open to the logic of someone else, however that logic is usually made up of "you c**t you are wrong".

Because i come from a point of view not many people have on here (not emotional or bias views) i often see what others dont as they are not clouded by emotional attachments. It was the same on planetswans, most dont have the ability to take emotion out of a thought process ,and again i put this down to my life experiences, particularly my business brain where I have to make logical and emotionless decisions every day of my life.

So often of you understand my viewpoint then you have been able to see the situation through emotionless eyes - and thus seeing the obvious.

id like to think, given a good world cup for chile and medel, that we could get something like 9m for him next year, to be honest, id sell him regardless of what division we are in.

Value usually derives from the median.

Loosely - In order to be value for money you need to pay less than the going rate for a player of that type and ability. Look around the Premier League at the players in Medels position and what they cost. Does Medel do something that these players cant? Not for me, in fact others do things that he cant is the more honest evaluation.

Yet apart from Yaya Toure and Fellaini (who pips him to worst signing) is there a more expensive defensive midfielder? There may be but i cant think of one.

Yet when I did the chart of best performing defensive midfielder in February, he was statistically ranked 19th out of the 20 starting defensive midfielders.

Is that value for money?

I gave you an opportunity to back your opinion and you refused, i even gave you 500% more reward than i would get for mine being correct.

He is 5 foot 7 and he plays as part of a 3 center back 5 man defence.

I cant think of many teams that do that. There is no way he is good enough to be a a regular center back in a flat back 4 at 5 foot 7. Cannavaro he aint.

I didnt create this thread, it was created for my attention. The thread has now gained it, if anyone should look a tit it is the OP and the ridiculous responses in it.
