Sunderland who? whos scared?

Sat Apr 19, 2014 10:15 pm

Two very organised perofrmances but they got lucky in both...

Law of averages would suggest the chances of them conceeding goals having 20 plus efforts at their goal in consecutive games is extremely likely. they should of conceeded 5 goals in each of their last 2 games.

Sorry but its nothing sort of a miracle they took points in both,
if they dont improve they are going to end up on the wrong side of a thrasing. even from us,

they scored so what... we scored 2 against man city and 3 liverpool... and both had less shots against us than sunderland.. just the shots happened to go in on the day

Sunderland Wank Wank Wank

Love your optimism! I think we can beat them! I was impressed by us today for the most part :bluescarf:

Agreed and we are looking better away lately, and Sunderland haven't beaten a team from the bottom half of the League at home this season :bluescarf: :ole: :ayatollah:

Cardiff specialise in ending teams bad runs. The last 4'points for them away to Man City and Chelsea was a nightmare for us. They will stay up at our expense.

Gus Poyet hoping Cardiff play in Real Madrid kit as Sunderland boss admits Black Cats raise game for bigger clubs

Gus Poyet claimed he would prefer Cardiff to turn up in Real Madrid shirts at the Stadium of Light on Sunday after their stunning win at Chelsea.
The Sunderland chief is convinced his team raise their game for the biggest clubs after dramatic victories over Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea this season.
Sunderland remain bottom of the Barclays Premier League after their 2-1 win at Chelsea, but have four games to save themselves.
They are now just three points away off safety and face a massive game against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s fellow strugglers at the Stadium of Light next weekend.
Poyet said: ‘I don’t know if Cardiff can play with a Real Madrd shirt on Sunday, then that could be an option.
‘The situation is that we must believe. If the players don’t buy into this, you are dead.
‘You don’t think this was a miracle today? Thank you very much. I was right. We needed something special.
‘You can’t imagine how many people have said to me in the last couple of weeks, “you need to win the last four".
‘We played Manchester City and Chelsea before those four. That means that people, good friends, were not expecting a lot from us from these two games. But we proved them wrong.
‘To be the first team somehow to beat Mourinho’s Chelsea at home is a privilege and a little bit of mixed emotions because of course I have been here and I know how important it was for Chelsea and the players this game.

I've never liked Sunderland.

Especially after The Sunderland Corporation sabotaged Dr Alec Hollands work and blew him up, forcing him to throw his chemical and fire engulfed body into the swamp .

Thus becoming Swamp Thing.

I hope they get relegated. :ugeek: :ayatollah:

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer knows next week's game at Sunderland could have huge implications
Last Updated: 20/04/14 11:33pm

Cardiff manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says next Sunday's Premier League clash with Sunderland at the Stadium of Light will be like a "Cup final".

The two sides remain in the relegation zone but improved results of late mean both have a realistic chance of beating the drop.

And Solskjaer said: "Next weekend it is a proper cup final.

"If you talk about league games that mean the same for both teams, then that is us and Sunderland. Next weekend will be the same mental test for both.

"It is a massive game for us, and we will prepare as if it is the last game we will ever play.

"I think we will probably have to have five more points to give us a chance. I don't think 34 points will be enough, 35 might be enough, and 36, I think, will be enough.

"The players have come through some adversity. As a group, they are all fighting for their lives as Premier League players. They all want it, and every one of them is chipping in."

Goalkeeper David Marshall has been a particular star for Cardiff and produced two more great saves during Saturday's 1-1 draw with Stoke.

"We do keep him busy," Solskjaer added. "Stoke was one of the less busy games he has had, and he showed the concentration levels by producing two fantastic saves."
Asked if he would be in Solskjaer's Premier League team of the season, the manager added:

"Yes.

"I would pick Marshy if I could, every day of the week. In the league, in his current form, yes."

Cardiff will finish their season at home to Chelsea on May 11, but Solskjaer says the fixture may not prove quite as daunting as it appears.

"It is three weeks until Chelsea, and a lot can happen by then," he said.

"They could win the league, they could be in the Champions League final, or they could be in Brazil in some of their heads at the World Cup. You never know."

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s revved up for D-day clash with Sunderland

CARDIFF have played in finals of both the FA Cup and League Cup in recent years - but Sunday's clash at Sunderland could trump them both.

Premier League survival and the guarantee of £40million for another season in the top flight will be at stake at the Stadium of Light.

With just a point separating the bottom three teams and three games remaining, it is as near to a knockout tie as possible in the league.

The winner will live to fight another day. The loser may as well pack up and start planning for life in the Championship.

Cardiff manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is well aware of the scale of their next game after a point against Stoke kept alive their hopes of avoiding the drop.

He said: "Sunderland is going to be a proper cup final. It will mean the same for both sides.

"This [Saturday's] game didn't really matter for Stoke, apart from their pride and professional attitude. But next weekend will be the same mental test for both teams.

"It will probably determine what happens with relegation. Other results will also effect it but it will be a massive game for us and we will prepare as if it's the last game we will ever play."

Scoring from open play is going to be our problem but judging by yesterday whitts is going to put a free kick away soon.

Sunderland also have a track record for a ton of yellow and red cards - I think they're the worst in the EPL.

Could be another pen for us this week ;)

We really just need to get out there and get the lead early - Sunderland also have a tendency of lacking a bit during the 2nd half.

Obviously a difficult game, but winnable for sure.
