I've been to Stoke and to my mind you'd think they's look forward to a day in a modern, vibrant and generally friendly place like Cardiff. After all, they've been to some pretty shitty places on their travels this season, not least of all their own stadium and the one about 40 miles west of ours!

I've been to Stoke and to my mind you'd think they's look forward to a day in a modern, vibrant and generally friendly place like Cardiff. After all, they've been to some pretty shitty places on their travels this season, not least of all their own stadium and the one about 40 miles west of ours!

Couldn't believe how quiet they were given it was their travelling fans as at any club, they are always the most vocal, such as we are. I sit in the Grange 10 seats away from the, er, away, and I love the banter but the Stoke away fans are probably the worst I've seen this season for singing. I always think it shows a bit of class when 19:27 has been applauded by the away which I think is a reflection of being proper football fans. Stoke is pikey-central of Staffordshire and its fans are shite. Naughty Forty? More like Gypsy Fifty.

Hughes looks set to improve on what Pulis did in terms of a finish. There was also a very high net spend at Stoke whilst Hughes is very canny in the transfer market. Admittedly, he doesn't always know what to do with his signings but he's a safe pair of hands for a club like that.

Fully agree with the general critique of Stoke as a place though. It was impossible to get out of the train station without being escorted on to buses and taken to some Student Union Bar before being bussed in to the ground directly. One of the only approachable officials said away fans kept getting battered so they decided to treat everyone like animals.

Need I remind you he signed Kompany, Zabaleta, De Jong, and Tevez for City? All three played their part in the revolution. I spoke to a Blackburn fan pre-Hughes and a Fulham fan post-Hughes who both echoed my thoughts.

He's got a good eye for talent as proved by what he did at Blackburn on a low budget. Now look at them.

Cardiff will take more to places like reading then Newport have at home. Newport are so small and irrelevant I have a soft spot for them. Are them home next Saturday, I need a game to watch?

The same QPR he went to and kept up on the last day of the season? They nearly spoilt our Premier League win! You could argue QPR are the solitary blip on his CV even though it was Redknapp who relegated them. He's improved Stoke this season and a top half finish is formidable. That's exactly what he achieved at Blackburn, City and Fulham. Mark Hughes isn't a bad manager.

Thought Stoke were pretty good fans - among the loudest but not as good as Palace.

Yes they seemed to sing more about us but it was good fun and it's not like they had anything to play for.

Just backing your own team is boring - bit of mickey take of the opposition is great.

They were just trying to wind us up with England, chariots, Vincent tan chants, and it backfired and helped get our fans going. Cracked up when we did our Kenwyn Jones chant in response to their odemwingie chant though - tongue in cheek on both sides.
Personally I hate it when we have a love in for the opposition fans, and think we are always at our best when the stadium is as intimidating as possible. I always remember the Leeds game when they were top of the Prem and we beat them in the fa cup- we were like galatasary and you could see their players shaken. Fans were nasty against Man City and we shook them up and won. We made the stadium a friendly welcome for Hull and get hammered 4-0.
