Gary Medel

Cant believe some of the criticism on here of Gary.. As far as I can see he is the only player that isnt under the impression that you cant go within 10 feet of a opposing player when they have the ball.. hes definitely not the fastest but that doesnt stop him trying (more than you can say about the 15 million zaha (who incidently should of been taken off as soon as he refused the ayatollah and then proceeded to clap the palace fans.. ole should of changed it and made a point that hes playing for Cardiff and that sort of attitude wont be accepted))then theres also the fact hes the only player that seems to know what a slide tackle is!!.. ok hes made a few erratic passes this season but to be fair theres more physical movement in a game of chess than in the cardiff team..

basically if gary goes in the close season I for one will be sad to see him leave.. Thank you gary been a pleasure

Quality player who needs better players around him, e breaks up play, keeps it simple and finds a Cardiff player who will then hopelessly kick the ball as far forward as possible. We lose the ball and repeat this process until he doesn't win the ball back as we are 1-0 down.

Theophile-Catherine, 10 yards of space, Campbell ahead of him showing for a clear pass, smashes the ball out needlessly for a throwin. They score from it. Cheers theo

He has been average every time ive seen him and that is most of the games this season. I cant see many Prem sides coming in for him after the season he had, back to Spain id guess.

Been one of our better players all season, the stats don't lie, so either you don't understand football or you are telling fibs

Being one of your better players isnt really a statement of quality though lets be fair.

The stats say he is the 19th worst defensive midfielder out of 20 this season.

Doesn't track runners, defends ok intermittently, isn't helped that people just hospital pass him the ball.

Someone in Spain will probably come in for him, especially if he has a solid world cup.

No I suppose it's not, he's one of the better ones out of a shit group of players

I suppose the telling question would be - if you had the cash again. Would you spend £11m on him?

It was madness.

Hand on heart, if he was offered to us for £5m - I still wouldnt want to spend that on him, id rather Ki back.

Mutch, Marshall and Caulker would be nice additions to our squad and maybe Daeli for the future, but Medel, no thanks.

Wales on Sunday claimed that yesterday Medel was more Poodle than Pitbull

Agree Medel has not lived up to his name 'el pit bull'. After high hopes at the start of the season he hasn't lived up to his name. He lacks a lot of pace and looks unfit to me. I still think he would be a good addition to most teams tho where he does not have to do as much work as he does playing with us. He is never a 11 mil player tho, I would say 5/6 would be good value.

I think the most damning thing about this season is we've spent £10 million on right backs, £10 million on centre backs and £10 million on a defensive midfielder and we've still conceded the second most goals.

People say other teams have spent in the past but I doubt many teams outside the top 8 have spent £30 million on defenders.

He has been OK but not worth the money we paid.
For me he is El Crangrejo not El Pitbull
Too often goes sideways or backwards !!

He can be very very good, and he can be very bad. Hasnt been consistent, but has been important overall. The only player in midfield that holds his own, but he is definitly not a world class player. Mid-table PL team at best.

Spot on. in terms of which players have potential to be quality PL players. ( Campell and No one could get a spot in one of the bottom PL teams)
