A forum for all things Cardiff City

League position: 19th
Top scorer: Fraizer Campbell (seven goals)
Savage's view: I don't think they have enough quality to stay up. I can't see who is going to score six or seven goals at this stage to keep them up.
Did you know? Cardiff's away form is one of the worst in the division, with all but one of their five wins this season coming at home.

Always interesting reading any pundits review - really suprised that Savage belives we dont have the quality in the team though!?
Marshall, Caulker, Medal, Bellamy, Zaha, Mutch (on his day) & Noone.. i would describe them all as quality players who are more than capable of playing for a premier league team.
And although Frazier hasnt exactly been banging them in, him and KWJ should get a few goals between them?
What are you're thoughts on this? Is Savage right? Or is he talking rubbish and just needs to cut his hair...

Hes never liked us, i still think we will stay up. We will get more points away from home with Ole in charge.

If you can find one quote from him where he has ever said anything nice about us I would be amazed.

Tbf, Savage is usually unbiased nowadays with his punditry and I like the guy due to him being quite down to earth. Not saying I agree with him as I think if Zaha, Campbell, Noone, Jones, Eikrem & Daehli are consistent we'll pull out some wins.
You can't say the squad is full of quality when Zaha, Eikrem, Daehli, Noone, Zaha and Mutch are untested in the Prem properly. I think we'll stay up and these boys will show their potential & quality.

These pundits do my head in ,a few months back they were all saying sunderland and palace were down ,no way back for them ,no all of a sudden we hit the bottom for the first time after a tough month of playing arsenal, man city and man utd where we weren't expected to get much and they say we are down, have they looked at our upcoming games this month and that we could win some of them while other teams play the bigger sides .Hopefully if we win sat that will push us on to get more points v villa and fulham and then it all changes ,this season it is to close to call an no one will be safe until the last week or two

the bit about away form is spot on though.............and we played most of the sides youd expect to be at the bottom early on and Fulham apart didnt look like winning any of them..thought then and still do should try to win against the bottom 8 or so home and away in this division, they all try to beat us/

Daft comments in all honesty.
Half of our new signings haven't even featured properly yet or had a chance to make an impact.

He'll be proved wrong, like a lot of others

Robbie Savage had no quality either and he managed a decade in the prem

Only a few days ago you were saying that we will go down too.

He's right sadly not one of hour players has
The quality of hair like he does wonder what
Product he uses

These predictions are coming from the man who slated Villa last year and said all season they would go down,he really knows his stuff doesn't he
I hope he is wrong but the fact is we were lucky to beat Norwich last week and we need our new players to hit the ground running and gel fast........lets hope.

If we dont sign a new striker. We signed Kenwyne Jones. Here you go again picking Alex. Pathetic.
I think we'll stay up now.

I've thought the same all along.

I think thats a different kettle of fish all together - I personally think we are going down (hope im wrong obviously)
But thats based on our position in the league and the teams we are facing after Feb - the players we have are of a really high standard, its just that its a very competative league.
I think what Green Arrow is saying is that he shouldnt dismiss our players of having no quality when a lot of them are not tested in the premier league.
Mind you the same argument could apply to Cornelius...

He has a fair point and it's just an opinion, the quality though is no worse than a handful of other clubs at the bottom, Zaha is possibly better than anyone else has around us, there aren't any prolific goal scorers who would guarantee 7 goals at those other clubs either. However, now that we have Zaha as a threat on the left then Jones and Campbell could indeed get us 6 or 7. Daehli could also end up being our hero-Legend

Savage wouldn't know about quality if, quality jumped up bit him on the Ase, and sang I'm quality

I think that a KWJ and Campbell partnership could work - KWJ looks like a poacher and combined with Campbells work ethic i think they will do well together
I hope Daehli does well for us - he looks livelly and he definatly has some skill to him - I just want to see him make an impact in a few PL games before i start raving about him!

Have to agree with what you are saying but do you really think Kenwyn Jones adds the fire power needed to stay up ? I dont. He does add another dimension and bring something we lacked. However, after seeing bits and pieces of him while he was at Southampton and Stoke and from the Norwich game I really dont think he will make the difference at all. He was poor despite his goal against Norwich and should have scored with his first attempt - he was lucky to get a second chance.
If anybody is going to be the difference it has to be the signing of Zaha and the re-birth of Craig Noone.

I don't mind Savage and his views, but his review just shows how the game has evolved.
There is no assessment of the team dynamics and he hasn't even mentioned managerial tactics or coach capabilities.
Savage talks in the same vein as all the other money orientated people in the game. Unless you have bought an expensive stand out player of quality, you ain't surviving.

f**k savage!! Never liked the dopey tw*t.average on his best day as a footballer and as for his opinion? Means naff all.WE ARE STAYING UP!! BLUEBIRDS!!

He's one of the most clueless pundits on television and even worse on the radio, he's only where he is because he is an ex pro and nothing to do with his knowledge of the game. I won't listen to a word he says.
