FAO EVERY SORT OF CARDIFF FAN

Wed Jan 29, 2014 4:29 am

Supporting a football club does not mean only liking them for when they're successful. Whilst some clubs are judged on success the Fans are or should be different.
I know every club has there fair share of *Plastic* supporters, and if you are a South Wales Kid/Valley boy or Cardiff lad who had grown up a Liverpool or United fan then started to pay attention to Cardiff when they got to play off carling cup or FA Cup finals and now in the Premiership, then you may think that the ride is over and you can go back to not paying any interest in Cardiff and Focus on the Power teams of English Football again, then by all means do so. But when Cardiff start becoming popular again and you fancy calling yourselves a Fan of the club, just remember what you did when we were shit.

Your Club is for life and not just for Christmas.

A good rallying call and i can see where you are coming from but there is a good chance that a lot of life long fans actually started watching Cardiff for the first time at a big game whatever the era. Crewe promotion game was mine in 1988. I suppose that would of made me a glory supporter back then. I like everyone supporting back then have gone on the rollercoaster that is cardiff city definitely more lows than highs in the first ten years for certain. However the bug does catch and its fair to say that some of these new supporters will end up being more hardened supporters than a lot of people including myself. we cant just assume that now we are in one of our most sticky situations for a while and relegation candidates that a majority will jump ship and return to former allegiances i dont think it works like that. I am not saying that we will sell our full allocation if we get relegated either, there are not many that do a fact of life im afraid. I just hope that the new supporters of the last couple of years get the excitement out of the new stadium that i used to get when entering the bob bank. Sadly for me personally the excitement is not there as much now for a number of reasons:old:
