Norwegian Media (VG): Berget to Cardiff?

The Norwegian Newspaper VG is as of now speculating whether Jo Inge Berget of Molde (formerly Strømsgodset and Udinese) could be joining Cardiff. The only reason of doing so is that he was seen travelling on to London with his agent. Could be any club really, but due to the Solskjær-link he's naturally linked to the Bluebirds.

From what I've seen of him I wouldn't rate him as a good enough player - Championship perhaps. He plays as an attacking midfielder/deep-lying attacker, and I can't see the need for a player in that position. I think the link with Cardiff is coincidental (certainly hope so) but I thought it worth mentioning.

All this rating of players is daft. People said the same about the likes of Snodgrass and other Norwich players and Southampton's players yet some like Lallana have gone on to be highly regarded at this level. Its not go much to do with their past really. Its everything to do with how they settle, adjust, respond, take advice and training and become suited to this level. Plenty of players have come here with next to no recognition and have done just fine yet others who are names have come here and under performed. You're taking a risk whoever you sign to be honest.

Berget is originally from my club in Oslo and I knew him quite well back then (as a player, mind you). A massive talent when he went to Udinese as a young player, but did not really get any matches for the club. Originally a striker he is now more of an attacking midfielder, but he doesn’t really score enough goals in my opinion. I doubt whether he is good enough for Cardiff, though he might come good in a couple of seasons (he is still young). Half of Molde has been linked with Cardiff over the past few weeks though, so I would take this one with a pinch of salt, if I were you.

A reporter from the Norwegian TV channel TV2 (who owns the rights to PL in Norway) has apparantly spottet Berget in Cardiff.
