' FOOTBALL ONLY SECTION ? ' SUGGESTIONS PLEASE '

I don't know about most of you but I come here to read and chat about football.

It seems appropriate to have a section that is specialised in this area (CCFC and others of course) and not for 'general chat'.

It could also be an area where any talk of rebrands is banned as it sends posts spiralling out of control and ends up in a very tiresome place.

I really believe it would make the forum experience easier for the casual reader and occasional poster.

Suggestions and opinion welcome as always

That aside, I've said before a tagging system is a must. If your name is mentioned in a post you get a form of notification.

I'm not keen on your posts either, but don't whinge about it.

I think it's fine as it is. I prefer having everything in one place, saves switching over section all the time. Which at times can be a pain if you're using a phone or tablet.

Plus the football only section would be really quiet, different miscellaneous threads make the board more interesting

I would like to see a Cardiff fans only section.
Members only allowed to join after 300 posts. They would soon be found out if they are not Cardiff fans by then.
300 Post of just smilies and three word sentences is not an option either.
Members can then speak to other fans without the subject matter being derailed.
Just a thought.

If rebrand chat continually derailed threads then i'd be sympathetic to this view but it doesn't. A topic title is all the segmentation needed. Unless you want to completely erase rebrand titled thread topics from your life. In which case you're probably in need of more than a MB facelift.

A simple rebrand forum would do. If people want to have the exact conversation over and over again until everyone gets dizzy.

There is a difference and it's outlined adequetly in the topic title as you have done yourself, I don't know why it's such an issue for one or 2 people. If the board was losing topics prematurely off the first page due to excess traffic you would have a point. I can't help feeling people just want to bury there head in the sand regarding the humiliation of THEIR football club. I.E. The rebrand

Not if you have brain cells. Just restart the topic in general chat if you really need too, generally topics become rebrand themed when the initial topic is exam ghosted anyway so people wouldn't care. See what we did the, thinking, it's brilliant. Try it.

It is a dominating subject (understandably) but as an example with the Cheltenham friendly the actual game got nearly ignored next to talk of flares and songs. As I was unable to attend I would have liked to have learned a bit more but the best info I got was from a Cheltenham fan!

Steady on, i have a degree from the highest seat of learning in Britain, Not claiming to be anyones superior but to accuse me of lacking brain cells??? well..........What is your IQ? Mine is 125 with a capacity for something called high range creativity, it's a test not found on the standard IQ test paper, not some internet test but a stringent 90 minute job from Oxford, I've also got some thing apparoching a photographic memory which has been tested and verified by a delegate from the Steven Pinker foundation. The psychologist testing me said that my capacity for remembering imagery was in the top 10 percent that he has ever seen. I was shown a list of images for 90 seconds(3 seconds per image) I was then asked to memorise them within 20 seconds per image, i got 98 percent correct needing only one quarter of the time allocated. Not bad for a boy from a council estate eh?

Anyway, Generally topics do not become rebrand themed and no matter how stridently you say this lie it won't become the truth.

It was swamped by several rebrand related threads yes.

But my main gripe isn't the rebrand anyway. I'd just like to be able to talk about football and my club will like minded individuals - that isn't the focus of this board anymore. Everyone wants to argue and wind each other up.

And the arguments are some of the most petty I've ever seen from grown men.
