TAN HAS CALLED A MEETING

Fri Feb 15, 2013 12:36 am

15th feb 2013

This is from a very reliable source (and i dont do these 'sources' stories)
Its the story that 'lovejoy' journalist has been keeping schtumm about we think

He has apparently accepted that the rebrand has upset too many people and
has admitted that he should have handled
the whole rebrand much better AND had more consultation with the Trust and
supporters groups re: the badge/kit etc. He IS adamant that Red is a lucky colour
but perhaps the Blue CAN be incorporated into the kit AND the bluebird will be
remaining (but so will the Dragon?) He wants to arrange meetings once the
season is over to try and get ALL the supporters on board. Brilliant news!! The
red scarf bollocks was decided some time ago by all accounts and WILL go ahead
but he was told that many supporters might not take up the red scarves and will
insist on waving blue ones. Apparently this shocked Tan. He thought all was rosy
in the garden.

Nothing confirmed of course until all parties meet up after the season but it
looks promising. He has ADMITTED some of HIS ideas were not too well thought
out :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

If this is true then fantastic, all was needed was co-operation with the fans. :ayatollah:

VERY reliable person mate ;)

I cant say more than that, but come the summer, a lot of stuff will be sorted.
I think we'll KEEP the red, but there will be blue in the home shirt too, AND
the Bluebird :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

No mate. I spoke to this same person about 18 months ago and he was BANG ON.
His info comes pretty much from the horses mouth. But he is NOT involved with
Cardiff City at all. Thats all i will say.

As its you posting Dave I will take this as genuine.

Encouraging......I've had a look at some designs of red and blue and they looked good. I do believe this could work.

Probably full of shit mun!

Re: TAN HAS CALLED A MEETING

That's great if it's true. I'll never be truly happy though until we're back in blue, white and yellow with our old badge.

Good for Tan, a very good gesture.

Re: TAN HAS CALLED A MEETING

Fri Feb 15, 2013 1:26 am

like I mentioned it last summer: this years kit in red and black was the original away kit but tan changed the kits around so red and black became the prime colours.

the plan for next year is to keep the red but also add blue so the club would be red and blue (Palarse, Barca style) and a few ppl inside the club want to bring a different crest fwd. problem was that Tan insisted on red as prime and the dragon...

as I said last summer, they will prob do a PR stunt out of this, something like "Tan listens to his fans and incorporates more blue into the red bla bla bla"

Re: TAN HAS CALLED A MEETING

IF I keep PUTTING random word in CAPS for no apparent REASON, will this MEAN the BLUE will come back or will it
CONTINUE to be RED?

Re: TAN HAS CALLED A MEETING

Even though it will be a while until we may return which I hope as long as he is happy to listen to us and make a few little changes that be great.

I'd actually accept a 'Barca style' kit with stripes. :ayatollah:

All i will say is that if Tan at least shows that he is making the effort for the fans by incorporating the blue back into our kit, even if its only half, and he lets the bluebird remain, then personally my respect for him will go up 1000% and i might even, just might, be able to get on board with what he wants to do here.

I would just like to see that he's not completely intent on ripping the identity away from our club and he does care about what our fans think. :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Look at it based on evidence and the work Tan has put in to recognizing the history of the club both around the stadium and training ground. The only people saying 'Tan doesn't care' or that he wants to throw our history away is a certain prominent poster and owner of this website. Someone who has a vested interest due to a certain mate being a former owner themself. Someone else once told me "speak as you find", the problem is that we're jumping to conclusions based on the purposeful misinformation of said poster and others.

Re: TAN HAS CALLED A MEETING

disagree there natman... I for example was never a friend, fan or admirer of Sam Hammam. And forced by someone with a gun, who I would rather see in charge of the club, my answer would be: pull that trigger!!!

and I think I am as much anti-rebrand as Annis. And yes, I can think and speal for myself, dont need a fans' leader to guide me

And what work would that be?

Re: TAN HAS CALLED A MEETING

Fri Feb 15, 2013 8:11 am

A meeting in the summer will be too late for next season. Last year May was too late to change the kit design and they could only switch between whether red was home and away. If the same timeline has to be followed by the manufacturer this year then they will be sorting the kit design out in the next couple of months.

Re: TAN HAS CALLED A MEETING

Fri Feb 15, 2013 8:23 am

I'm leaving the info as it is because the feller who EMailed me, I trust and don't
want to compromise him. He doesnt work for Cardiff City though but is very close
(by proxy) to Tan. I'll never get anything juicy off him, but he felt this is stuff
we might want to hear, and knowing it doesnt interfere with anything nor does
it jeopardise anything sensitive. "But keep me out of it" which is fair enough.

Makes sense though, Tan would have to be an absolute bell-end not to realise
he has caused ructions. Getting ALL the fan base behind him is a no-brainer!!

I wouldnt know. Perhaps this 'meeting' will be the day after we secure promotion
No idea on that. I dont EMail this bloke back asking for more, just "cheers" for
what he's told me.

Re: TAN HAS CALLED A MEETING

Believe it when I see it. Never ever will forgive the man and will never be satisfied with blue and red as our home colour and change of badge but if he's willing to listen to people then that's clearly a step in the right direction.

Lets hope this isn't just bullshit.

Re: TAN HAS CALLED A MEETING

Fri Feb 15, 2013 9:24 am

I mentioned this. Few weeks go in a post about him having thoughts on how to compromise , the talk inside of the club is of blue coming back in some way , the bluebird coming off the badge but being put onto the collar and sleeve of the shirt is the idea being talked about and hopefully the compromise on the bluebird situation .
Would also give tan the opportunity to sell shirts in Malaysia without a bluebird on it
Wouldn't be surprised to see a red shirt with blue collar and sleeve trims

The heading suggests a meeting has actually been called which would be good.

But nothing has actually happened has it? This suggests to me that leaking out that there may be such a meeting at some future unset date after the season ends is a ploy attempting to reduce or defer any unrest over the ongoing , extended rebrand plans. Certainly , I can`t imagine VT wishing to have any signs of dissent at the televised match the day before his birthday or it won`t be consistent to him being able to say back in Malaysia "look they love the red so much they are waving red scarves in honour of my birthday".

I would not be suprised if Ali is under strict instruction to lead the crowd into a rendition of "happy birthday"at the Brighton game as well- watch this space!

If it was a genuine attempt to explain to fans why the need for a change and to take on board and listen to their comments , then why not have such a meeting far earlier than the end of the season?
