WOLVES STREETS ARE CLOSED DOWN DUE TO VIOLENCE WITH LEEDS

Mon Feb 11, 2013 5:30 pm

Leeds fans were allowed all over Wolverhampton town centre, 3pm on a Saturday. They both have a big history of violence.

Yet weve been banned from there and our next game there, the coaches have to meet the Police and not allowed in for a drink, 2pm kick off and changed to a Sunday :o

Streets are shut as Wolves and Leeds fans clash
Two city centre streets were shut off by police after Wolves and Leeds fans clashed following Saturday’s match at Molineux.

They fought outside the Hogshead pub in Stafford Street after the 2-2 draw, while fans also battled in Molineux Street before kick-off. Stafford Street and Broad Street were shut.

Six men, aged 18, 20, 22, 39, 45 and 48, were arrested before and during the game for offences, including breach of bail and affray.

Why have Wolves got this illogical fear of us? They surely, must have much more of a history with Leeds and a host of other clubs, yet we have had one incident of any note in 2003 outside the ground and the incident inside the ground that was instigated by the WMP with no one charged. Then the outright banning by Moxley and restrictions ever since including those imposed this Sunday. I think it's bogey man syndrome, an irrational fear

I really dont understand it, they have near murder when they play WBA or Wolves, big trouble with Chelsea/Westham/Leeds/Millwall yet none of them clubs have ever been banned from there.

You are like a blinking old record Annis!!! you are leaving out some facts! until the weekend there has been no recent history of trouble between Wolves and Leeds. The first two seasons we played them after being promoted back to this level one word Carnage!! policing at both those games at best very poor. West brom Wolves games have been bubbles in recent years.

West midlands police are trying to give supporters the benefit of the doubt now as been shown in Birmingham last two seasons.

Leeds turning up unannounced have done us no favors at all I would guess, although our communication remains positive. i would guess Leeds will not get the same privaliges next time they visit there.

We were banned by a totally different regime to the one that is in place now. We need to go there and behave like we have at Bristol and millwall in recent years then the fixture will end up as a 3 o clock with no restrictions at all.

They have asked for coaches to go to to an RV point just so they can guarantee us safe passage to the ground. Is that really a restriction? Ok early kick off on the Sunday is a restriction but no where near as bad as previous years

You are getting like the police   the police moan about us being drunk and smoking in the toilet instead of worrying about cardiff supporters smashing the town up and looking for fights. You and Carl are banging on about having an escort in by the police where we use to moan about being banned, and bubbled. If you don't want to engage with the police go in a car and make your own way you don't have to go on a coach :D :D :D :D :D

Agree about behaving over here in bristol apart from a small group of about 10 who arrived in one of the pubs near the ground about 3pm spoiling for trouble ,i did see a fair few cardiff lads in and around the town centre and on route from the centre to the ground just looking for a good day out /drink even though they could look after themselves , like i said had no intention of starting any trouble

Come on Vincent you have to agree that given the general good behaviour of Cardiff fans over the last few years, then there is no logical reason why this particular games needs any restrictions. It is just the powers that be exercising their authority a little to show who's boss.

Our best season for years very few games have had restrictions imposed on them; only Leeds was a voucher exchange and wolves an early kick Off! most games buy a ticket on the day, and Ipswich police free. No matter which team you support if you travel by coach, a fair percentage of your away games you will be requested to go to an RV Point for the police. If people don't like meeting the police don't go on a coach is my advice.

Many people have worked hard to change football clubs and police forces perception of Cardiff city supporters, none more so then the fans themselves, lets hope with the large numbers we are taking away now it doesn't take a down turn.

If supporters behave at wolves a week Sunday we will have another argument to say we want a 3 o clock on a Saturday afternoon. Just like at millwall and bristol

I think people have short memories, it wasn't that long ago we had a total ban at Wolves. We have made huge strides to get restrictions lifted and things are much better, but they are waiting for us to f**k up, and if we do just watch what happens next year in the Prem, restricted numbers, bubbles etc. they just wont have it.

I love being a Cardiff fan, I am proud of being a Cardiff fan, I and others have worked hard for years to try and get fair play for our fans, but it is a two way street. We cannot deny that we will always have a let's say slightly mad element among us, it's just the way it is, for f**k sake have a Friday night out in Aberdare , Ponty or Merthyr and you see what I mean.

It don't mean they are bad, just need an occasional arm around their shoulder and a few wise words so they don't f**k it up for the rest of us. There are certain games where we need restrictions, and if you think that isn't the case then you are sadly deluded. I can't believe they let us off the leash in Bristol, they did and we behaved, but it could have been so different.

It only takes another Chelsea to pit us back under the cosh, we all have a responsibility, and making out how much fun it was riding roughshod in the old days may seem like fun, but it wasn't fun if it was your pub trashed or your shop looted.
Things have moved on, it's a pity some people seem as if they can't. :old:

That's the point though Gwyn, Chelsea was over 2 years ago, apart from that we have been involved in no trouble, we have been to Bristol no restrictions, got stuffed and no problems, been to Charlton, got stuffed, had over a hundred on the tube and no problems, yet Wolves for no reason firstly banned us and still impose early KO and restrictions, there is no logic to it. We are no worse than many clubs out there, in our division, Leeds, Millwall, Brum have been consistently involved in trouble at various clubs, yet suffer no or very little restrictions. You posted a couple of weeks ago when defending our lower travelling support as being a result of so many bubble trips over the years, extremely disproportionate, compared to every other club. So you can't have it both ways, all we are pointing out, is that this is another case of that unfair treatment of our support, which Wolves, just like Leeds have no grounds for doing so. The stupid thing is, is that we will probably suffer now, because of Leeds behaviour last week. So as you always say, Gwyn, be extra careful Lads
