Couple of questions for Annis/Carl...RE Hammam

Sat Jan 26, 2013 10:07 am

There is an awful lot of debate going on here regarding Hammam with both the Pro and anti Hammam camps making valid points.

The pro Hammam team would obviously like to see Hammam back at the club in some sort of capacity. My questions are:

1) What would Sam bring to the club that the Malaysians do not? (apart from the rebranding issue)

2) If he has a love for our club, why is he trying to screw the club over with the langston loan deal? ( I know that people say Sam isn't Langston, but I find that hard to believe. If that is the case then why aren't the club dealing directly with Langston, this also goes back to my question surely if he has a love for us he should be trying to broker a deal that wouldn't screw us)

3)OK the atmosphere at the games during Sam's reign was excellant most of the times, but I think we can put the move to the new stadium as the main reason for a loss of atmosphere plus the clubs lack of vision to try and create that sort of atmosphere that Ninian was renowned for. Do you think that a return by Sam would recreate that atmosphere that away teams feared?

I am just interested in hearing your views and create a debate in the correct manner rather than everyone kicking off with each other.

I will be honest I do not want to see Sam back as we have moved on from there, it was good at the time and will remain a fond memory!

OK I'm notAnnis/Carl but I would like to givemy replys tothese questions.

The pro Hammam team would obviously like to see Hammam back at the club in some sort of capacity. My questions are:

1) What would Sam bring to the club that the Malaysians do not? (apart from the rebranding issue)

Sam is a football man gained from his time at Wimbledon and here of course. He drives a good deal for the club specially in the transfer market. One example of this was Jerome Cameron to Birmingham. Even the astute businessmen of Gould and Sullivan at then at Birmingham praised Sam for the hard selling he did and of which we were quite happy with the out come. I am convinced we would have got a lot more for Ramsey if Sam was dealing with it. We need this sort of man at the head of the club.

Put yourself in his shoes. Sam claims that he was back stabbed by the board. Its the board he has an issue with and not the club that the fans follow i you get my jist here.

3)OK the atmosphere at the games during Sam's reign was excellant most of the times, but I think we can put the move to the new stadium as the main reason for a loss of atmosphere plus the clubs lack of vision to try and create that sort of atmosphere that Ninian was renowned for. Don't think anyone can answer this. I persoally feel Sam would make more effort to increase the atmosphere than anyone else who is in a position to do so at this moment in time.

I am just interested in hearing your views and create a debate in the correct manner rather than everyone kicking off with each other.

I will be honest I do not want to see Sam back as we have moved on from there, it was good at the time and will remain a fond memory!

Cheers for the answers, its great to hear an opinion from the pro Sam side put forward in a mature manner.

It would also be interesting to hear others opinions apart from Carl and Annis

1) If Sam returned to the club and lets not forgot the club offered him a role to return as life president (at least proves to me that there is no fight between Sam and Tan), I believe we would have a football man overseeing the manager and his staff, that would be the most important point for me.

2) What have you read that makes you think he is trying to screw the club, Langston are owed money and nobody disputes that. Through Sam Hammam we have had opportunities to settle the amount for less, I see this as helping and not screwing the club.

3) I am not too sure if Sam could help the atmosphere although he surely knew how to whip the crowd up but days of raffling a sheep and walking around the pitch are long gone.

Why do we need Sam overseeing Malky and co

Because I believe it would be beneficial to have someone above the manager at the club who knows football and understands it.

Lol sorry Carl thats the biggest load of shit ive ever heard.

Re: Couple of questions for Annis/Carl...RE Hammam

Thanks for the response Carl, but my reply to that is why do we need Sam watching over the footballing matters as to me they seem to be in very good hands with Malky and his staff. The league table shows that.

I had forgotton about Sam being offered a position, but if he has the love for the club that he proclaims why didn't he take it if he has no conflict of interest with the Langston deal. As by all accounts he is just the go between!

Surely if Sam was a president of our club that would make our position in the Langston issue stronger. Which makes me think that Sam has a vested financial interest in this loan.

Read Annis's book tosee how he oversaw the football side of things. Tellin fans on speaker phone bout sacking managers, the way he spoke to staff and way he spoke to officials at Cardiff Council during stadium talks.

We have moved on and are far more proffesional, don't need him anywhere near our club.

You want Sam as manager???

Re: Couple of questions for Annis/Carl...RE Hammam

Sat Jan 26, 2013 8:42 pm

have you ever read Vinnie Jones autobiography? If not i think you should....Sam treated him like a son, but the moment Vinnie asked for better things, Sam sold him to Leeds. Remember what happened with Kav.
To be fair Sam helped hugely to get us on our way to where we are now, and they were good times.
But things have moved on, and Sam isn't the buisness man he once was...i.e. using Carl as a negotiator with the club over millions of pounds? no offence to Carl but thats usually a task for trained money people.
Anyway onwards and upwards.....this is our season

Actually we nearly lost Malky, lets just say we got lucky.

Our recruitment of a new manager was a diabolical episode.

Why was it so bad? Because of the courting of Shearer or generally unprofessional?

Both really

Di Matteo said it was the most unprofessional interview he had attended then after offering the job to Malky they went for Shearer. Fortunately Malky gave us a second chance. We got lucky, bet we wont be that lucky next time.

That's sad to hear but like a lot of football clubs we're a basket case. Wouldn't have it any other way!

But the man hasn't been involved in the game for what six years?

The modern game and the modern player is completely different from the last time Hammam had any day to day involvement.

hmmmm......I'm not sure about that - that seems to me like it could bring about a power struggle about football related matters.

I'm not anti-Sam, but would say that generally.

I think the Manager should have the final say on such matters. I've had my doubts over Malky (but he seems to be proving me wrong :ayatollah: ), but whoever is the Manager should have the say on football related matters.

I rarely have a go at people but this guy carl has delusion of grandure. He is no different to me or any other fan. But constantly puts himself on some self proclaimed pedastle. There's obviously something deeper in his constant ass licking of the guy who would have gladly seen us go under. Hmmm
