Fraizer Campbell today 'officially' became a Bluebird
Fraizer Campbell's father, Keith, is also his agent and Sunderland gave his father permission to talk to Cardiff ahead of the proposed move, Fraizer travelled to Cardiff last Wednesday, hence the update , and on Thursday Sunderland FC expected him to be training with them not knowing that he had travelled to Cardiff as well.
The deal was thrashed out on Thursday and that is when Hull accepted they had been defeated because of the wages being offered by our club, reports from the North East claim that the wages being offered were between £25,000 and £30,000 per week, I have not been told what the actual weekly wage is from our end.
On Thursday evening I was given the information that the deal was all but wrapped up and Campbell would wear 25 but as Annis reported early on Friday morning, the player himself asked for the number 27.

I suspect in other quarters I will get ridiculed for having the number wrong yet got the important information bang on
The transfer fee is £600k, which I think will surprise a few people, and it is a 3 and a half year contract. Shrewd business by the club.
As I said previously, the deal was pretty much 'concluded' at the end of last week but Sunderland wanted to announce the deal themselves and Matt Kilgallon went public in wishing Fraizer well at Cardiff, Sunderland had their reasons that they wanted to announce the deal, very much like Kim Bo-Kyung's former club Cerezo Osaka wanted to do exactly the same thing.
On Wednesday afternoon last week, I was specifically asked to hold off with how much information I put out regarding Campbell as the club 'were smack in the middle of it', that is why I was pretty cagey when I wrote the update and said that Campbell was still a target and that one of three players I mentioned in the update would become a Bluebird by the weekend.
I apologise for holding some information back at the time but it was done by request.
I wrote more openly about the dealings on Thursday because of Kilgallon's tweet.
Anyway Malky got his man again, he tried in the loan window to get him and I was aware that Malky had a desire to try again, personally I think it is a very good piece of business by our club and one that Sunderland FC may just regret.
Welcome to Cardiff City Fraizer Campbell

I know that others have quoted Malky saying a defender for cover and that is it but I think there may be another as well.

However you now seem to be more happy that you got it right rather than concerned by the news you are bringing.
How can you say paying this player a £5m contract, committed to paying over a period of nearly 4 years, in the financial position we are in is "shrewd business"? Not just any player, a player that has had to drop to the championship as he wasn't cutting it on the league we will probably be in 6 months down the line.

We all use spin mate. You choose a very negative one to support what you say.Wasn't cutting it?Not exactly an accurate statement is it?So in your view what would you call shrewd business practice by CCFC?
