Southampton - intentional relegation

Fri Jan 18, 2013 5:21 pm

I know there is a lot of money at stake in terms of TV deals but do you think Sunderlands chairman is looking for them to get relegated so he can cash in on parachute payments? Knowing it is unlikely that they'll get in Europe anytime soon or the near future do you think this is what he has planned?

Honestly can think of no other reason why he'd sack Adkins and replace him with a relatively unknown manager?

You are right, got it mixed up in original post. West Brom yoyo'd the divisions though. I only asked a question. No need to cry.

No it's still the thickest thing I've ever heard.
Please could you explain what the advantages of getting relegated would be over staying in the premier league?

Only asked as it was brought up on 606 before by a Blackburn fan in relation to their plight.

An you didn't think when you heard it that's the stupidest thing that I have ever heard?

Either way you've made yourself look like a right thick c**t.

It's been put to me in the past that West Brom were happy enough to yoyo until they could afford to have a real go at staying up and pushing for the top half.

Was never sure what to make of it.

You get parachute money for being relegated. Surely that's the only bonus?

You get more money from staying in the premiership so not really a bonus.

Barnett is too clever to make such a silly mistake.

He set out his bait and has caught a few in fairness.
