I am going for 3 players coming in :ayatollah:

C'mon then stick your 3 names down who you think they are :?:

:ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I'll name 1 Kevin Doyle at Wolves. Out of contract in the summer, so won't cost much, and I've been told we have asked about his availability.

:ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Sounds a realistic signing and certainly as a few goals in him.

His contract runs until 2015. I thought he was injured because I haven't heard of him getting many goals this season. He has only scored 5 in 28 games, I thought he'd score loads in the championship.

Why are we asking after players who ca'nt get in a championship side i.e. Sordell and players who are struggling to hit a barn door i.e. Doyle? :?

Just because dont score for another team doesnt mean wont score for us! Besides everyone will want austin here but already got 23 goals how many more can he score if played for us? 10 is that enough to get us up? no striker will get 35 in champ so limited goals from him

What makes you say he won't score another 20? :?

There's no capped limit. It's not like the FA will step him and tell him to start missing once he reaches a certain limit. Anwyays, 10 in half a season is still a very good haul so whether he gets 10,20 or even 30 secind half of the season I would love him to be at the club and we should break the bank for him.

I think we should have signed him in the summer personally though.

He has started 24 of Wolves 25 League matches so not injured. Wolves as a team are not scoring a lot of goals and perhaps if you look at the Actim Index for season 2005/06 he was the top rated player in the Championship.

Good players don't become bad players overnight and Doyle is still a very good player. I think his goal returns playing in our team would be much higher than Wolves who are struggling to adopt to the Championship.

This season 74% of his shots at goal are on target, last year Miller was less than 42% for us. That's why we should be looking at players like Doyle.

Have you got the stats for Glenn Murray?

Is he as good as his goal return or is he just having a lucky season?

I like Doyle a lot but was just surprised at his record this season. I imagine Wolves will want at least £4m or more if he still has 2 years left on his contract.

Murray is having a good season but I think 12 of his goals have been penalties. But 64% of his shots on goal are on target which is good. Compare that to Helguson who only hits the target with 38% of his shots, our best player is Mason with 79%.

I've been told the 2 years is an option which will not apply, rather wages won't apply, if Wolves don't get back to the PL this season.

Hmmm the interesting bit there is "First and foremost we must stay in the PL". What affect will not returning to the PL have on that contract.

A big difference I've been told. Watch this space.

Us getting a transfer done in 1 day? Like ding!

I doubt it but if a player becomes avaiable I think we might nick a signing.

I think he will make a last ditch move for a player he wanted before.

Do we need anyone else? Think we have enough and wouldn't want to disrupt the squad and team spirit at the minute. Remember there was 7 key players injured in November only 1 loss to Bolton who were very lucky in my opinion!
lets go with what we got, nice mix of hungry youngsters and honest professionals! :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Actually, Carl has got it bang on so far with Campbell, Lappin and the youngster from Connahs Quay ;) :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Not sure anyone predicted THAT particular trio but he DID say THREE ;)

Personally, I'd like at least ONE surprise signing tomorrow (a Brayford or a Mackie) but I think we are well set up to last the run-in as we are, if necessary :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
