Yes but my opinions don't make me look stupid when you look at where we are now.

Think you and a lot of people are taking the statement too serious!

Yes, it's extremely unlikely that we're going to get anywhere near the play offs, but Sunderland were right at the bottom of the leageu about Xmas time 8 or so years ago and they ended up winning the league!

Perhaps so but there comes a time where it just becomes plain stupid to say things.

Xmas...went to my supermarket yesterday and they have Easter eggs up on the shelves.

Had it been Xmas time now, perhaps Morrison would have said we could win the league and really embarrass you!

Right......you are being......stupid.

It probably is a very unrealistic expectation that we will reach the playoffs. BUT I would rather our players have this positive attitude when approaching a football match - you've got to have that "can do" attitude to achieve anything in life even if some goals are likely to be beyond reach.

Would you respect Morrison any more if he said "we're gonna struggle for points for the rest of the season and I'll consider it a success if we avoid a relegation battle"

He'd then be slated for a negative attitude.

I agree not a chance, but as a player you've got to aim to win every game. He obviously believes in our squad so can't fault him really He done the unthinkable with reading he's just got a winning mentality and that's what you need

Not being delicate at all but truthful. Such comments from such players make the club look stupid.

He and the club would get more respect if they came out with some honesty with such words as the play off are unlikely but we are building for next season.

This we can still make the play offs only pisses people off and give more ammunition for others to take the piss.

At least he is being positive. It would be easy to just give up now. The statement in itself isn't silly, but the timing is. If he had said that in October we would all be applauding him. It is now a case of putting together a descent run of results with as many clean sheets as possible in my opinion.

Also, be careful what you wish for. If the miracle happened and play-off triumph followed, how ready is the squad and the club for PL football? Let's be sensible and consolidate before shooting for the stars.

Just saying.

Fair play to him if we have 11 players on the pitch with the same positive attitude then it will make a difference to our final league position. :bluescarf:

Although playoffs this year is more of a fantasy than a dream

Re: ' CITY PLAYER STILL BELIEVES CARDIFF CAN MAKE PLAY -OFFS

While I think it is extremely unlikely that we will win our remaining 11 games which would give us 77 points, I hope that we don't as I think that this year 77 points with our low goal difference wouldn't be enough. Therefore, if we had a miracle and got the 11 wins I would be gutted to then miss out on the play-offs. This season is exceptional in the Championship as there are still 7 teams within 6 points of winning the title and the 6th place team is 4 points above the average for this number of games. If the teams add the average points gained from this point onwards,18 points, then the sixth team will finish 4 points above the highest usual total (75 points since the Championship started), with 79 points. I think that if I was to bet on this I would split the difference and go for 77 points, but with our -4 GD compared to Brentford's +12 (the team in 6th and with the lowest GD of the top 7 clubs) then even a miracle 11 wins are unlikely to be good enough.

Not a chance in hell, but then I'd rather have players who still think they've got something to play for, instead of thinking about their summer holidays already

I would like the players to think they are thinking of next season.

I just hope they are considering working together and bonding. Hopefully we will see fruits of this next campaign.
