" HAVE WE GOT THE STOMACH FOR IT ? "

Sat Mar 17, 2012 5:05 pm

Now is the test for us, many of the other teams are going for it hell for leather Southampton/Reading/Birmingham & Blackpool, have we got the stomach for it, when things were going well we said we had a team of battlers/full of passion/guts/hard workers and class, many said we didn't need to strengthen. Well its the final run in 10 games to go.

6 home games all winnable, but can this team get the results ?

Who honestly believes we can do it now ?

If teams like Southampton and Reading can, surely we can ?

Southampton and Brighton came up last year and are now above us, are we capable of a good finish to the season ?

We won at Bristol City, I was over the moon, but they cant even beat Pompey, who everyone hammers.

Tiredness, I don't want to hear that word again/what about all the other teams in our league ?

" CAN THE MIGHTY BLUEBIRDS DO IT ? "

I am not being negative, I am asking the questions/thousands have already deserted/ City need the fans to stick with them. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Hope so. Like I said in another thread. Should win our next 2, then a massive six-pointer against Brum. And if we win all 3, it'll take some effort to not get into the play-offs.

We need to win games like Burnley (h) Cov (h) Millwall (h) Watford (h) Barnsley (a) Derby (h) - If we win all of those thats 18 points to put us on 77 - More than enough to get the play-offs.
Brum, Boro and Leeds are all must wins as well, all six-pointers IMO.
And then we have a winnable tie against Palace on the last day, but i'm confident we will have our play-off place before then

We also have to rely on other teams to get the right results for us, win tomorrow and we go 4th :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I don't think we got the squad to compete even with Reading.. They have it great form, where as we are struggling to get a win.
I think we haven't got the team that we hoped we had. No strength in depth is something we have always struggled with, especially quality strength..I think if the team is left as it is we will struggle for the playoffs unless we can magic some great form from somewhere.
We are currently an average team.
Which is gutting, but that is what we are. Our form has gone and the team just doesn't look that good..

MY OPINION BY THE WAY??

We lost our cushion. Tomorrow is make or break, then Wednesday then Sunday. We need a little luck, Kenny off the back of the head or off the arse, then we all exhale a massive sign of relief then on we go.

NO EARNIE SONGS TOMORROW PLEASE !!!!!!!!!!!!

This guy MUST score. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

We will probably lose to palace on the last day of season, missing out on playoffs. Palace will have their revenge for us knocking them out of carling cup. What goes around comes around, but it will be our turn for the shit end of the stick. AGAIN

Hope I am wrong but think we are shot! Teams sussed us out since Christmas onwards and nothing was done about it in January when all around us strengthened.

I can't see how Malky is blameless in all this either. He certainly rivals Jones in the stubborness stakes. Cowie and Miller in particular appear to be blue eyes of his. Cowie his done sod all since around Mid December yet more creative and fresher players like Conway and Kiss have been overlooked.

Substitions have been woeful lately as well. Ok you aren't blessed with many options but FFS try something!

Lack of pace, width and strikers apparent all season yet nothing is done about it. We can only take the club for their word when they say money is available blah blah blah.

Would love to see 2/3 quality players come in by thursday deadline but can't see it- January was our time but we stood still and talked bollocks instead.

Still be there every game cheering on the boys though despite my frustrations! :ayatollah:

rotation is what we need imo we have a good defensive midfielder in Kiss we have a decent replacement for an off form Kev in Blake etc etc. Teams have found us out and are using it to their advantage imo since the start of the new year we've been obvious we know whats going to happen the next game. We can go 4th tomorrow and straight back out as three sides have games in hands over us. We need to keep winning and get out cushion back we all knew the good football wasn't going to last for ever.

They have wingers and bags of pace. They also score for fun. It was quite an acheivement to do the double over them. If only we could rediscover that form.

I think yes the team have, I think it will go to the last match and we will get 5th spot.

The question should be have the fans got the stomach for it ?
Judging by a lot of the posts on here I would say no,
now is the time for Us Fans to get right behind the team.

For whatever reason the wheels have truely come off and not a Kwikfit in sight so my answer is no and i think we will fall away rapidly and expect us to finish around mid table .

I certainly hope we got the stomach and the bottle for this run in. But this not only goes for the team it goes for us fans too. The team needs our fantastic support now more than ever. We need a good turn out tomorrow against Burnley, a win and we will go 4th. Looking like the top 3 will maybe battle for those positions amongst themselves, we have to stay in the mix for the remaining 3 places. I urge everyone to get to the game tomorrow and show your support for the boys, like I said our team needs us.

I for one think we can still make the play offs, promotion is another question, with Reading and Southampton now looking good for 1 and 2 who would bet against west ham taking the play offs.

I again will be making the 500 mile round trip, tomorrow for the Burnley game.

I have my season ticket for next campaign too, as with you Annis, after many years following my cardiff, we may have our opinions and we may agree that we have missed opportunities to strengthen the team, we have been here before, and we will be here again. 3 points tomorrow will make a massive difference to our run in, 1 point and I think we have an outside chance. No points and I for one will be looking at what away fixtures next season I will be going to next in the championship.
Maybe see you again in the pub in Brighton Annis....

We've got the stomach, we just don't have the skill, pace or guile to be able to turn losses into draws and draws into wins. In fact we are a lot like Swansea before they signed Sinclair and then that Italian lad last January. Hard working but nothing special.
