“ DERBY COUNTY v CARDIFF CITY POSTPONED “

Postby Bakedalasker » Sat Mar 17, 2018 9:53 am

Cardiff City’s away match at Derby County, scheduled to take place on Sunday, 18th March 2018, has been called off.

Following recent heavy snowfall, the surrounding areas at Pride Park have been left in an unsafe condition for supporters, staff and officials.

A new date for this match, and further information regarding the postponement and ticket detals for a rearranged fixture, will be released in due course.

UPDATED 18/03/18

Derby has been postponed due to staff unable to get to work

Todays game has been cancelled due to weather condirions and safety concerns.

Derby police have confirmed access to and from the stadium is fine & All Supporters coaches are running :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

It's coming down pretty fast up here. Been snowing for the last hour.

I read somewhere that snow was expected Sunday. Hopefully it has come a day early and it will clear up by Sunday. Looking outside it looks like its here for the weekend.

9pm tonight

It's due across England today but rolls into Wales after midnight.

It'll be fine in Derby tomorrow it's just travelling from Wales early tomorrow that may be an issue.

I don't know. Seems pretty normal for a weather forecaster. Just needs to put in a few gales here & there or definately no hurricanes to be more accurate. :laughing6:

I am in Derby now, it is lightly snowing but sun is also out, nothing settled on ground and main roads all the way up are fine. Lot of roadworks outside Derby. :bluebird:

-1 and a bit chilly and windy though

I reckon pitch and stadium including car parks etc will be fine. If it’s on Sky they’d have made plans. That Chesterfield webcam doesn’t actually look too bad. Due to stop early hours of morning up there and only light snow showers atm According to forecast I saw.
If Brentford would have been on if the pitch was ok (no underground heating), I’m pretty certain that tomorrow will be. Mind you, I’m a glass half full person. :occasion5:

If it is on then the poor conditions may suit us more than Derby.... hopefully!

Sat in the hotel in Derby about a mile from the ground. It's snowing but it's just a light dusting. Main roads are fine, side roads are white but no issues at the moment.
