I've got it on good authority that Jamie Mackie is one of Neil Warnock's top targets this summer.

He played his best football of course under Neil Warnock at QPR and can play as a striker or a winger and has the work rate that Neil Warnock loves!

Yes Jamie Mackie is now 31 years old,but Mackie and Warnock have high respect for each other.

I am expecting Mackie to be one of Warnocks first signings, if Mackie agrees of course to our low wage structure.

I believe talks have taken place, it will be now down to Jamie Mackie.

Mackie is a decent player at this level I think he is a more of a complete version of Pilkington.

Would be a good signing, proven in the league and of course uner Warnock.Works hard

Ian Holloway wants Jamie Mackie to be with him at QPR next season.

The Super Hoops have the option to automatically trigger a one-year extension on Mackie’s contract which they have not yet exercised.

There seem no barriers between the manager and his player to getting a deal done: the fan’s favourite is desperate to stay on and Holloway doesn’t want to see his promising squad break up.

“Of course, Jamie Mackie is someone I want to have with me next season,” he said.

“Jamie is an absolutely fantastic fella and I’m really enjoying working with him. I don’t want to lose anybody.

“People are in and out of contract. Now’s not the time to talk about that. I’ve got a lot of tough decisions to make.

“Hopefully they keep trying to please me, which is how I want it. These days the manager keeps trying to please the players so they don’t get sacked.

All R’s fans can do is patiently wait for news of an extension before Mackie's contract expires at the end of June.

I've always been impressed with his work rate and he's annoying to play against so would be the perfect signing and an opportunity to unload someone. Being a Free Agent should make the wages easier to sort out

We need a mix of youth and experience and I'm sure that's what we'll get

Thought the CCFC retirement home had closed but NW has done ok so far so maybe he trying to get a blend together but we really need to shift some older /same age out if we are fetching this age player in.

On our budget for next season will be ideal not a prolific goal scorer but will chip in with 8/10 goals.

Thing is with Mackie...and Warnock is well aware of this, even when he is not playing well he will work his socks of and be a complete nuisance for the opposing defender...he's very similar to Gunnerson (although in a different position)

Every team needs a few players like him in the squad. He provides something different and if we are going to reach the play offs next season it certainly won't be with tippy tappy pleasing on the eye football..it will be with hard work, no nonsense, power, getting the ball forward quickly and bullying the opposition...Mackie fits into this system well.

Slightly dramatic. Pilks has been shite of late agreed, But his goals have carried this team both last season and some of this season where goals have been hard to come by for us.

Why are people making out if we sign mackie then we're not going to sign anyone else? Typical over reactions from some on here, just have some trust in our manager.
