Fair play to Gunnarsson, he made sure that the shirt was given to Zan :bluescarf:

This is when he got the shirt torn

Absolutely great story! We are all to quick to slag our players, but Gunnar has top a top thing doing that! Little things stay in the memory along time!

Gunners a legend. One of the nicest players we've had and one that always thanks the fans for their support he should be captain.

Agree that he should be the captain. He should also be played as a holding midfielder with Adeyemi next to him with Gunnarson being the anchor man and Adeyemi using his energy to get around the pitch and press. Whittingham should be played in the middle with them but be given the freedom to roam and create things.

Brilliant bloke and player. Deserves a lot of respect. Without him a desperately poor midfield would be even worse!

Yes we are including myself sometimes.

I do feel thats we need players like Gunnarson, who give their all and at the end of the away matches show their appreciation,it means an awful lot :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

Yes I like gunnar and have said numerous times on other topics he should be captain. Hopefully he can get a few others to follow his lead. She's going to cheer him even louder from now on ;) :bluescarf:

A lovely gesture and he's obviously a very decent fella who works hard on the pitch.

Unfortunately he doesn't seem to be able to influence a game anymore like he used to in our promotion season and is a constant fixture in the are of the field where we are having the most problems.

Having a long throw or being good at set pieces (Mr Whittingham) whilst spending the rest of the game chasing shadows around the pitch is not utilising their abilities for the best.

Having said that his attitude and workrate can't be criticised and I'm sure your daughter will treasure and appreciate his kind actions.

I often chat to gunners down the vale and he spent twenty minutes talking to me just after slade was appointed and he had captained Iceland to a win over holland. He keeps himself to himself but if you approach him he will talk football all day even when I am trying to come away from it. Needs help in the middle of park but always gives his all. Nice gesture.

Having had 3 daughters I have to tell you they do grow up and come to the bank of dad for more money than you fork out now.
You will never think that any of their boyfriends/ husbands are good enough for them but they will always love you until you say no

Great :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Gunnarsson isn't suited to a 442 thats why. Slade is the problem and then Tan above him. Slade is out of his depth and Tan has left the club unstable.

Great to see from him, really nice guy but just think he needs to improve a lot from recent performances. Regardless I think that either him or Kenwyne Jones should be our captain.

Had me worried there Annis. Thought he's moved on for a minute. Why isn't he captain? Good enough to skipper his country, why not us? :bluescarf:

Re: "Thank you Aron Gunnarsson"

I remember the days as a kid I would wait for the match ball to come into the stand so me a other kids could try and chase the ball just to touch the ball city were playing with. I remember throwing a ball back to Ronnie more .dave Bennett as a kid it was magical so to get a shirt must be dreamland.
Good thread more players should do it for the kids its a great moment for them.

The closest I ever got was touching the match ball and ill never forget dave Bennett brilliant footballer that stank of deap heat haa.
