the campaign to get back to blue has only gathered momentum since we got relegated, which is telling, and fans are directing their anger at the poor football towards tan, and his rebrand. even if we were blue, i think the fans would be similarly annoyed at the team and management / owner and booing them off.

Don't forget the anti red protest prior to the 1st game of the prem v Man C. I remember the camaraderie of the event gradually evaporating as we walked past pubs of hostile looking red clad drinkers, then the 'loneliness in a crowd' feeling in the stadium as I looked at the sea of red plastics and old fans too desperate for success for their own good.
You make a fair point about momentum, but don't underestimate the resentment the rebrand has brought about. People don't appreciate being taken for fools.
