" Cheltenham Festival "

Postby worcester_ccfc » Wed Mar 15, 2017 12:23 pm

Terrible start for me yesterday, one winner on the Lucky 15 and that's about it. Poor run from Yanworth costing me.

Hopefully a better day today.

Anyone having a bet on the festival?

Won £51 yesterday and didn't back a winner, all placed at juicy odds in a 25p patent

I did Sporting Life's Pick 7 yesterday and had 2 winners, a second and 3 thirds, not bad out of 7 races.

I've had another go today and I did Neon Wolf in the first, which lost by a head, typical! The rest of my selections for today are:

2.10 - Might Bite
2.50 - Tin Soldier
3.30 - Douvan
4.10 - Sausalito Sunrise
4.50 - Divin Bere
5.30 - Carter McKay

Good luck everyone! :ayatollah:

I had Neon Wolf as a single too, poor jump at the last cost us!

Also backed Tin Soldier.

Gone for Alpha Des Obeaux in the next.

Can't back Douvan in the next one at 2/9.

Gone for an each-way on God's Own. If it places, it'll return more than a Douvan win would. If it's second, I get the place money and a free bet for the win part as Paddy Power do free bet if you're second in the ITV races.

The loose horse cost you the race! :banghead:

I had a good start with the first 2 races, then a bit of a shocker. Divin Bere lost by a neck, the others came nowhere. Jamie Codd must win ride of the year for his win on Fayonagh in the final race, going from last to first!

Will probably start with selecting Yorkhill in the first tomorrow.

Double on Yorkhill and Unowhatimeanharry today.

Un De Seaux is potentially a great price at 5/2 right now.

Also done an each way double on What's Happening and Village Vic.

Had the treble of Un De Sceaux, Yorkhill and Let's Dance. Incredible from Ruby today. Said to someone yesterday that, even though they struggled the first couple of days, never underestimate Walsh and Mullins.

Gone big on Cue Card for the Gold Cup, as I did last year. Maybe sentimental rather than belief but really hope this is the year - likely to be the last realistic chance with the absence of some major players.

Also done a treble on Defi Du Seuil, Death Duty and On The Fringe.

Thanks to today, will finish Cheltenham in profit which I'll settle for :thumbright:

Up a few quid I had the 25/1 shot in the first race on Tuesday.

What about Minella Rocco e/w in the Gold Cup!! Worth a few quid.

Could be in with a shot, a very open race this year.

I would also say Sizing John is an interesting one, while Bristol De Mai is overpriced.

Can see why Djakadam is favourite, after Ruby and Mullins dominated yesterday.

Sizing John wins the Cheltenham Gold Cup - beating Minella Rocco, Native River and Djakadam.

Cue Card fell at exactly the same place as last year. More importantly, horse and jockey up ok.

I was there on Thursday- the ride that Walsh gave Let's Dance was really classy. About £30 up on the day which is highly unusual for me at Cheltenham. My first day there since 1984!

As things went well in the Gold Cup ...what about Gocry each way in the Midlands National Uttoxeter. I think it could be worth a try!
